Thought y'all might enjoy getting a peek at the travelling crab, now that she (note: No, I do not know if she is a she or a he, but I think of her as a she) is home safe and sound.
Her size did help me find her. If it had been one of "the twins" ... my smallest two crabs ... I would have felt a little hopeless.
Some natural shells are kinda blah, but even they look better ... IMHO ... than some human coming along and slapping paint all over them. I mean, what mere mortal can compete with Mother Nature? I get really hot under the collar when I see them selling crabs with painted shells.
Still though, I'd hate to get rid of them. I just love 'em! Hubby doesn't get it, he just really doesn't like them, but I can't see what's not to like!
I'll tell her you said so! That was always one of my favorite shells, I was glad to see somebody finally grow into it and choose it. Coming home from the beach, I bought her some more shells ... you should have at least 3 per crab ... but they are not as pretty so she just turned up her nose at them! I'm secretly glad, but at least she does have choices, if she so desires....
