Monday's excitement was taking Samus to the vet.  Although she received a clean bill of health, she was placed on an antibiotic which seems to have immediately resolved the poop issue.  She's on a quarter pill of the stuff twice a day, and I was worried about how we'd get the pills into her, but she's so indiscriminate in what she's eating that ( Read more... )

Been a while since I last posted, and much has happened.  Hard to believe how much stuff happens in a week, sometimes.  Regardless - all the week 3 pictures are now up, as well as one new video so go check them out.  I swear Samus has doubled her size since we got her, but a vet visit this afternoon will provide actual numbers.

Brandy reminded me I haven't posted new pictures recently.  That's because as I was posting them on Saturday, or computer blue-screened in a rather serious way, and Glen spent hours trying to fix it/backing things up.  So, yes, I have not posted pictures recently, but hopefully when Samus goes down for a nap later, I will be able to.  Stay tuned.

Friday night, Glen volunteered to get up to do the overnight outdoor session with Samus.  It was WONDERFUL to be able to stay in bed the whole night.  We have been setting the timer for 5 hours after her last going out, but I can't remember the last time the timer actually went off.  She generally is up and playing/walking about enough to wake me ( Read more... )

As I write this, Samus is in her crate (door open, of course), sleeping peacefully.  Every day this week has brought something different.  Each day, she is a different dog.  Yesterday, she was a little beastie and into everything.  Today has already started out differently.  Here are the updates ( Read more... )

The problem with waking up every couple hours overnight and then getting up at 5:30 is that by 10:30, you're exhausted.  So I've been feeling a bit lightheaded and headachey for a few days now due to just not sleeping nights.  Last night, we tried taking Samus out only once in the middle of the night, around 2 AM.  That seemed to work, which is a ( Read more... )

Our vet appointment was yesterday afternoon, and after a hard play outside, we quickly packed ourselves into the car, running late as I'd lost track of time.  I sat in the back with Samus while Glen drove.  Although she complained about being in the car, she was alright.  When we got to the vet's, I tried to have her relieve herself on the grass ( Read more... )

Our second night was similar to the first.  Although we'd set the timer to wake us up every 2.5 hours, in general, Samus woke us up before the alarm probably just shuffling around, but we took no chances and took her outside each time.  So that meant a trip out at 9:15, 10:15, 12:30, 2:30, 4:15, and then up for real at 5:45.  We continue our one ( Read more... )
