That makes so much more sense. I'm so glad that a drug didn't cause those effects normally and make it through clinical trials.

Hopefully there is a non sulfa version of this drug that you can try out.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well... and yes, I would immediately call your doctor about this allergic reaction. And I would stop taking it NOW as well.

My sister is allergic to Penicillin. I'm sure you know this, but there are 2 major families of anti-bitoic drugs, the one that penicillin is in (can't recall the name) and the sulfa family. Many people that are allergic to one family are also allergic to the other. My sister is a pediatrician; my mom's biggest fear is that she gets an illness from a sick kid that she can't kick because she's allergic to all the drugs.

Allergies are nothing to mess with, and should be dealt with immediately. I hope you're feeling better soon and that your doctor listens to you and prescribes you something actually useful. Good luck!!

I stopped taking it (only took it once Wednesday night) and I called the doc today. Even if it isn't an allergy and this is normal initially, it just isn't worth it to statistically reduce my headaches to about half after taking the meds for 6 months. I'd need to see results within a week and it'd need to virtually eliminate my headaches. I think I'll stick with the reactive drugs.

yeah, my comment in the other thread was made before i knew about the allergy thing. if you're allergic, don't wait a week. that's stupid. glad you had the forehead-slapping moment. :)

Yet another reason why pharmacists are totally useless.
