Diagosis: You're Pregnant - [Audio]

Apr 11, 2009 22:53

This is the ODDEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN. You ARE pregnant. BUT the baby is in some kind of developmental stasis.

Is it deadly?

Oh no, it's perfectly healthy. But it's just SITTING there.

... well that would explain my lack of periods.

Indeed. And... why is my D-Comm on?

(ooc: frontdated after this)

surprise you're preggers, baby likes to wait, futzing with element timeline

She's pregnant. At least three weeks in.

HOWEVER the baby is in some kind of growth stasis. Possibly due to some kind of magical thing I have yet to document.

I've been running some tests with some reconfigured medical tricorders. For all intents and purposes, she is 100% healthy. In the top percentile for that matter.

What's pregnant?

It's a medical condition when a child is produced through the union of man and woman. The woman carries the baby in her body, feeding it and letting it grow until birth, where it is conceived through the vaginal canal.

Ah, alright. I think I understand now.

That last part sounds painful.

But then, I guess from some of the reactions I've had, not all civilizations have developed progenation machines yet.

Some have in my own universe, but it is the natural process of reproduction. I can give you a basic book on it if you'd like to read on it.

Pregnant.

It seems that when she arrived, it was already in a few weeks of development. But something's blocked it, possibly magic since it's giving me that same anomalous reading.

That's kinda weird.

I'm mean, even for here.

... I mean, THAT is weird, right?

It is weird, but highly probable in execution.

Usually I find this sort of thing technologically possible, but magic, I really need to look into.
