Tonight Cat dragged a bird into the house. It was still alive, so I rescued it from her. Then I realized that although it did not appear to be too severely injured (the cat had only fucked with it a little before I got to her), it was in fact a baby bird. gah, i hate situations like that. drowning would not have occurred to me, though. i am (?) glad to hear that it was quick. it happens a time or two each year that i find a mouse or bird or baby squirrel dead in the horses' buckets/troughs. it is good to know that it doesn't take long.

It was still very hard to do.

Especially the part where the bird struggled at first and I had to hold it down.
