She is a thing. A person is a thing. A person is a person which is a thing. Schoolhouse rock taught us (in music) a noun is a person, place, or thing. But since it could be any of them, inclusive, I'm still sayin' she's a thing. Dr. Seuss even knew what was going on with thing 1 and thing 2. But I wouldn't want them on a desert island, unless, y'know, they could do that trick with their pinky and tongue.
I have an aversion to calling people things. They tend not to like it very much. I might get slapped or punched.
Funny you should bring up Dr. Seuss. He lived here. There are shrines all over the place to him; Kind of like Seattle and Jimi Hendricks. There are buildings named after him too. It wasn't until recent years that I realized much of his weird drawings were of San Diego, and the odd plants and things around here.
