HOWDY, MY LJ FRIENDS
In my recent friending frenzy, I realized that I was an unknown, random entity on the radar of many LJ users. People were asking who I was and I would imagine, who the hell has such a retarded username?
Perfectly valid questions/concerns and I plan to address them accordingly.

Mine, on the other hand, has been brought about by my annoyance. I couldn't open my youtube account before so I created another y! ID, "pestetada". It roughly means "This is annoying" in my vernacular language (different from our national one).
And yeah, it's pretty handy when it comes to creating new accounts because "pestetada" is unique. ;D
I stopped reading fanfics in ffnet until at least 2 years ago. I got fed up with the OOC characters and tasteless plots. Then I discovered LJ and fanfics here are definitely better in quality [most of the time].

pestetada sounds & looks classy. We have UNIQUE USERNAMES! Probably one of these days, if we are ever that free, we should start making a list of LJ KHR fans with unique sounding names. But that probably means that we really have nothing better to do.
Yap, ff.net is admittedly innundated with tasteless crap. But my loyalty lies with ff.net and I practically grew up in that place. FF.net is my online backyard.

I learned to just close or go back if I don't like how the story goes. Before, I had determination to finish anything I read even if it's crappy (I remember my shoujo manga-reading days *shudder*)

Like you, i read any genre (except song fics, poems, marysues & OOC)/rating/pairing as long as it's well writen. I've seen shit pairings come alive with superior lang. and vocab. That being said, pertaining to KHR fics,it took me quite awhile to get used to 1827 and I am still not particular in favour of this pairing. 8018/D18 pairings are a lot better. 6918 is another odd but tolerable one.
My favourite type of KHR fics are those that features the Vongola guardians/family as a whole, when Tsuna inherited the mantle from the ninth. A bad-ass, no longer dame dame Tsuna brings immense reading pleasure.
[Side note: I really don't mind ppl who produce poorly written fics cus all of us started off from that stage. But I have a problem with those who produce crap, get a lot of reviews and they continue to perpetuate that same standard of fics for years to come.

Hmm, I don't think I have much I could say about myself that's not on my profile. My livejournal is ancient, too, and I've only recently brought it back to life with my Reborn craze. I'm guessing that's why you friended me. :)
I read a lot of fanfiction as well (maybe too much >.<), mostly Reborn nowadays. I write, too, but you don't want to read those stories. Trust me. I dabble a lot in Pokemon (not the show), and recently I've been slaving over a Reborn story. If you ever want to talk fanfiction, feel welcome to find me!

Really happy to meet a fellow fic reader and writer as well. How long have you been writing/reading?
Discussions of fics will definately surface. My fic updating speed is beyond slow though, so any fic ideas will only materialize a looonnnggggg while later.
As a side note, I've just read 'What We Fought For'by Metisket and it is AWESOME. you should read it too.

Haha, well no worries about the whole unknown entity thing (i kinda made the same mistake a few years ago when I was still new to LJ) and frankly anyone into the same fandom and interests as me can't be THAT off........wait i have anime as interests....
Heh, either way i look forward to any anime discussions and whatnot ^_^ (in terms of KHR i guess manga discussions since the anime ended ;____; To be honest though i prefer the anime ending than having 2 years worth of filler....)

I do wish to have vibrant anime discussions - but real life can be a bother * sigh* No time to engage in frequent discussions (I look to the sky and ask god why...). Well it is not liek KHR manga has anything worth discussing actually. I am this close - like this small distance between my thumb and index finger - to flaming the current plot proper if Amano doesn't save KHR and do something worthy for the inheritence arc.
