Meme stolen from Tara, who likes books as much as me.

"The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed."
1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people ( Read more... )

Remember: Fantasy writing isn't real fiction.

The Da Vinci Code was a tough read, the writing was dry and childish. Despite that, my main gripe with it is that most people who read it think it's a true story. sigh...

and seriously? fuck harry potter. It was (and will continue to be) a great example of successful marketing, but anyone can take ideas from other books and put them in a blender.

It's kind of weird to think that people have only read 6 of these? I read like a ton of them in highschool/middle school/college. So I don't believe that.
Also, in reply to Mike's comment, even though I love, Harry Potter it was literally ripped off of the British film/TV series, The Worst Witch. I wish that was a joke, but it's just not...and that's sad..
