Foul temptations

There's nothing quite as romantic as a cold, clear night.
At least not in my book.

This one went to waste, but I only get so many... and I'll be damned if I don't get a real kiss during one of them.
Or some real eggnog.

...Or both at the same time! but that could get messy.

Damn.
I guess I'm no longer cooler then Ghandi's mom.
Or breast implants.

Or Ghandi's mom with breast implants.

(That was wrong of me)

Cream of Life virginlady November 23 2005, 17:40:10 UTC
I'm fairly certain that the 'egg nog' that we drink here in the U.S.
is a version of the French 'Creme de Vie', or... Cream of Life.

There are variations of this recipe, and I am not,
I repeat,
I am not advocating drinking alcoholic beverages! :-)
This recipe contains rum.
A small serving in a liqueur glass is more than sufficient
to appreciate this beverage.
However, it is without questions one of the most
delicious sweet holiday or celebratory beverages
I have ever had the pleasure of trying.
Viva la France!!

Creme de Vie

Original recipe yield: 8 servings.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
6 egg yolks
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup rum
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS:
In a saucepan, combine water and sugar. Bring to a boil
and cook for 3 minutes.
Place egg yolks in a blender and process on high speed.
Slowly pour in the hot sugar water while blending
(pouring too fast might curdle the yolks.)
Add condensed milk, rum and vanilla.
Blend until smooth. Chill in refrigerator.
