After nearly six months of labouring over many of the same nit-picky word choices and the last few stanzas entirely, I finally buckled down and finished the lyrics for a song I was writing.
I could say a few things about them now, but I think it's best if I just let you read them and think what you will.

Circular Logic
Flashback to times of wonder
To the standstill I had understood
as basking in our blissful bond
As a sign that we belonged
But now my swan has wandered
My swan whose song I squandered
I swore she’d sing for so long
It makes me wonder what went wrong
The numbers can’t be true
They all come circling back to you
By this analysis
My instinct still insists
You must be the catalyst
The mongrels growl within me
Now aroused and hungry
to hunt down your treachery
But jealousy
won’t return to me
your sanctity
Flashback to times of wonder
Before the romance had been plundered
I danced to draw the dissonance on
But my balance was gone all along
And now my song is sundered
My sacred song whose thundering
roar I swore was so strong
It makes me wonder what went wrong
The numbers must be true
They all come circling back to you
How could I be so dense
It’s making too much sense
This can’t be just coincidence
The mongrels growl within me
Now aroused and hungry
to hunt down your tyranny
But zealotry
can’t rebuild for me
my sanity
Lost and lingering in loneliness
Ever spinning deep in jealousness
Yet obsession will never balance this
listless regress
Calculating and crazed with callousness
Ever spiralling high with zealousness
Yet aggression can never balance this
restless distress
Caught in these extremes of mindlessness
The circular logic manifests
Yet there is nothing to end this
senseless madness
