RIP LJ

It's a sad end. From James convincing me to start a livejournal to posting about his wedding festival. It has been a great way to keep up with people, but hasn't worked very well lately. There are so many other sites out there competing for members - facebook, blogger, and myspace just to name a few. And we're all so busy. Posting gets pushed ( Read more... )

it's unfortunate it's come to this, eh. i think your posts have been about the only thing that's been on my friends page for a few months now. i certainly haven't done a lot to help with the situation.

i have put the rss feed for your blog in my rss links, and will keep up with it now.

so long livejournal. i suppose it's on to facebook and twitter and other more instantaneous gratification. or, maybe now that we're all grown up, we can do like you and get honest to goodness blogs of our own...

I actually like livejournal better than blogger just because you can comment on comments. On blogger you just comment generally under the post. I think it's been cool when secondary conversations have started up.

LJ is pretty barren. Short status updates and info seem to have been taken over by Facebook and the like. Actual posts seem to fit better on a blog.

You should join Facebook! Carrie can walk your through it.

Carrie has talked to me about facebook before, but I don't really see the point. You can't really post on it. I don't see myself doing status updates, and I have email if I want to send a message to someone.

there is a notes feature! you can post your thoughts - extended version - and pictures!

I thought someone might say that we should all start posting again and keep LJ alive for a little longer, but instead the comments I got were to try another service. Interesting.
