I miss filipino cuisine

I've eaten so much filipino food over the holidays! I love it! I only wish I knew how to make more dishes. My mom never wrote anything down so we don't have any recipes except for spaghetti sauce which we made her give us. Tapsilog is damn good. I like it better than lonsilog/langsilog?? (or the one with longanisa instead of tapa). Isnt' there one with the fried sardine/fish too? Never liked that one too much. My favorite breakfast while I was there was the chocolate oatmeal (there must be a name for it but I forgot) and corned beef with the freshly baked pandesal. That bread is so freakin delish. It's not the same when we get it packaged from the filipino stores here ( ... )

yeah longanisa is good too. and i love corned beef especially with fresh pan de sal. why is everything there so sweet? the spaghetti was sweet and jufran gets put on everything. did you know my mom almost married the guy who owns the jufran company? crazy ( ... )

excellent! thanks for the recipe, i had no idea it was that easy. when i ate it, i thought it seemed harder to make than that.

anyway, hope you had a good new years. i'm sure you heard about what happened to us at chelsea piers. that sucked, but crap happens.

i guess it's from when the Philippines got taken over by the Spain.

yeah seriously. the exchange rate is roughly 55 pesos to a dollar now.
