Some thoughts as I was watching... Non-spoiler stuff, I promise! First, let me say that whenever I'm reading any comics, manga, or graphic novels I can imagine what the characters sound like. I sometimes imagine how the characters look and talk in novels too! Example: I remember imagining this one fight scene while reading "Wizard's First Rule", the first of the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind, picturing that kind of epic slow motion battle moments very similar to what I saw while watching the movie 300! Gah, I have no idea WHEN I'm going to read that awesome book again...

Ryuk in the English voice-over dub of the Death Note anime sounds kinda similar enough to how I first imagined. Accurate enough, but I imagined he would have a deeper octave of a gravely voice. A creepy clown voice to go with his creepy clown face. Oh gosh, those big eyes of his... XD

Rem I know they fit an English female voice-over that IS EXACTLY to how I imagined what she sounded like when I read through the manga!! She doesn't come into the series until some episodes later though. All I'll say about Rem, for now, is that she's another Shinigami whose personality and reason for coming to the human realm are different from Ryuk's.

To any who might be watching this series with me: who are your favorite characters so far?? My most favorite is Rem, of course. I also like Light, L, Near, Matsuda, and Soichiro Yagami, Light Yagami's father. (More details about Near and Rem later. Near comes WAY later into the series.) Light is one clever, deceptive, and he becomes more and more devious and delusional further into both versions. But he is the least favorite. I won't reveal why until that episode when he does! For those who are familiar with DN, let's just not spoil it for the new fans, okie? :P

The other thought I had... The cliffhanger at the end of episode 3 I found to be interesting, and I'm sure it will leave first-time watchers on the edge of their seats and will want to tune in to find out what Light decides in the next episode.

Random DN related questions for you to answer! If you'd like to answer them, of course. :D I'm curious to know your thoughts.

1. If you found a mysterious notebook with elaborate rules on how to kill someone just by picturing their faces while writing down their first and last names down, would you be like Light and attempt to test it out? Or would you be scared or skeptical and throw it away?

2. If Light hadn't found the notebook Ryuk dropped while bored out of his mind, do you still think he would go radically insane overtime and try to make major changes towards the world?

3. Would you be willing to cooperate--or even work alongside--a detective who hides his face and identity to solve something like a mass homicide case?

Funny YouTube comment I read after watching ep. 3: ".PeaceSignTape (6 days ago)

imagine if someone had a death note and they put down "Death by cookie."

Wow that'd be a nasty way to die LOL. Or worse, death by Trail Mix, in which is what I'm snacking on right now. ^^; All those who enjoy such snacks had better watch out!

Among other things to blog about...I got part one of my AMV completed! I'm soooo happy I managed to get the precise editing I wanted done to the first verse of Three Days Grace's "Animal I Have Become". If only my internet router would stop being fussy, then I could work on the next part very soon! >.>

Aside from that I've been enjoying my time off work. :) Also, I'd like to welcome Casey, AKA suppi_the_great, to the friend's list! She's someone new and cool I found on add_me. She's also played the awesome card party game, Cards Against Humanity! It's such a funny, really dirty game. XD If any of you guys and gals are familiar with the amusing simple card game called Apples to Apples, Cards Against Humanity is officially described as this: Apples to Apples for terrible people.

randomness, fun card and board games, cards against humanity, anime, book love, death note, new lj friend, amv
