Well said. Could just as easily be applied to the U.S., also.

I believe so too, though Canada is much more quickly losing its cultural identity then the US.

We are definatly losing are cultural identity, just look in our schools for example: kids are not even allowed to celebrate Christmas it is now considered winter break. Why because the most of the new immigrants do not believe in it so it is taken out of our systems that have been in place since anyone can remember. What for just to make the people who came to Canada by thier own choice in most cases happy. I can't understand why we have to hide our beliefs in our own country, while the people who have come here to our country get to flaunt their beliefs in our faces.

I think all countries who accept immigrants can relate to this. When I lived in Germany, they had their gripes also...and rightly so.

I think what's lacking is respect. Most immigrants enter a country thinking they'll change to their needs. Not so. In Germany, I had to learn the language (or what I could) otherwise the residents wouldn't even acknowledge my existence.

When I visit Canada, I give the country the same respect...even calling a hat/beenie a "toque" and ordering poutine. ;) (sorry, but I just can't bring myself to call milk "homo" yet. ;) )

People have to learn respect, no matter who and where they are. Until then, I fear this trend will continue.

lol, for the record I most certainly do not call milk HOMO. Nor does anyone I know. That's just weird.
