So my computer had a virus. A particularly nasty one that took away my administrator controls, at one point locking my main account (basically that means windows loads without the ability to do anything, including shut down). It also prevented me from using Nero, which is the only way I have to back up files. I finally got it mostly under ( Read more... )

I can imagine that. I would go nuts without my laptop. Odd how addictive and necessary computer have become in our lives...

that sucks :( I do try to back up stuff thats important to me, but theres always a danger that if stuff goes pear shaped I will lose something thats not made it to safety. Its not even that I lack the storage space to do it, I have external drives and a pretty huge NAS with raid 5 drives on it. Its just setting up the regimen to do it more often than when I remember to do it.

I do try to keep nothing on my desktop though. Glad yours worked out not too bad tho. And good to hear from you again :)

Yeah. I keep things on my desktop for the specific reason of not forgetting to back them up. Now that I have a backup drive, that point is moot. I just wish I had one 2 weeks ago.
