Any tips you have for us about moving over Xmas? I think it's crazy, but we're supposed to have the packers on the 19th and the car and box loaders on the 22nd. We fly out the 23rd.
Since you have packers and movers and you're flying to your new city, I think you'll avoid most of the crap I had to deal with.
We got to Verona late (9pm) because the roads from KC to Madison were crap and I was seriously put out with the apartment manager at our new place. When I called her she was snide and said "I had HOPED you would get here EARLIER." I think I said "I had hoped to get here earlier, myself. The roads are very poor." Bitch. I never liked her and I'm glad she left two months ago.
I guess my best suggestions would be to assume that the weather will close all of your airports or make your flights disgustingly late (this happened when we flew to Madison for Chris's job interview). Then you can be pleasantly surprised if they aren't. Take earplugs since screaming children will be traveling more at the holidays.
Our Christmas will also be fairly quite, although John's parents are coming on Christmas day and will stay for a few days. We'll have Christmas morning to ourselves. Maybe you could start some special holiday traditions that belong just to your family. Making cookies or homemade decorations or something along those lines. I know E is still pretty young, but she may enjoy dumping sugar or flour into a bowl. This year, the girls and I will be doing a gingerbread house (we try to do one every year for either Christmas or Halloween - haunted gingerbread houses!) and making cookies. They're finally getting old enough to actually help without hindering :)
