I simply live by: 'Do unto others as you would have done to yourself' (ye ol' golden rule) It's wearing some days, but I manage. (somehow!)
I have to agree, seeing the spark of happiness in someone's eyes is magical. Knowing that it happens from time to time get's me up in the morning. It's draining when people around you get down about things and your mind won't let you sleep for days thinking about what you could have done differently just so they would have perked up JUST A LITTLE BIT.

Do you practise self care often? You seem like a very mindful person, I found those two to go hand in hand. :)
