This summer I am doing research related to the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS), a multipurpose particle detector at the Large Hadron Collider, a particle accelerator at CERN. I may or may not be going to Cessy, though I hope I do. My project is rich on programming. Below is a short animation about the detector.

Yesterday a little after 6 p.m. local time, the highway bridge about 600 m from where I live catastrophically collapsed into the Mississippi River during rush hour. I knew something wasn't quite alright when my air conditioner momentarily lost power twice. Now this was kind of weird, but I thought this electrical anomaly was just a local event. ( Read more... )
