Things are continuing in the manner in which I’m becoming accustomed. A whole lot of nothing is happening at an alarming rate, alarming because I can’t afford nothing for much longer. Thanks to the “charitable” contributions of the National Guard, I give them three years of my life, they give me three thousand dollars, I might be able to swing ‘ ( Read more... )

I totally understand the misery of job hunting. I applied to about 35 jobs in the course of about seven months. Those who cared enough to meet me in person? 3. And one was a douchebag of an institution who didn't pay and rejected me within five minutes.

But don't give up. You'll find something. Hold out for something worthwhile, seriously.

And I can't believe you saw James! Or that he remembers us! And I seriously hope you don't have to become his retail co-worker. Takes a lot of the shine off.

In the last ten months I've applied to at least 20 jobs. Only got three call backs, 2 panned into interviews. The market is tough. Try healthcare, DHMC? The VA? GroSolar?

Looking in to the VA, unfortunately they have extended periods of posting time before they let you in. Also applied for some jobs in DHMC. I'll look into GroSolar though

I've been applying for a year- probably 50, 60 jobs. No one that I've applied to has ever contacted me (people have found me through monster and career builder and I've gotten interest through informational interviews). It's tough out there and I would imagine it's really tough in the Upper Valley, there's just not a ton of non retail that isn't super specialized.
