I recall seeing a few posts over the years from people looking at purchasing a digital piano asking for recommendations, however, when I looked through the archive, I couldn't seem to find anything

Don't know what your budget is like. If money is no (or little of an) object, I can't recommend the Roland KR-15 enough. For me, it was a financial slap in the face, but it has changed my world, musically, and thus worth it. And it was the only model of digital piano I've ever touched that didn't make me say, "BLECH!" to the sound and the action.
What is your budget? If on the lower end... I'm looking to help my sister purchase a keyboard / digital piano. I think she'd be content with a budget entry level keyboard, but I wouldn't be. I'm all about weight vs anything else and I think the Casio Privia series is good in that aspect for the price. I honestly don't know what else it offers, but I liked how it felt. I have an obsession with Yamaha and I didn't feel anything comparable unless you shell out close to 1K. Sure you get more out of that 1K, but... All I want is a piano.
In terms of Yamahas... I hear the Clavinovas are good. But I've never played one, so...
i love my Yamaha S-90 :) didn't cost an arm & a leg & it suits most of my needs. has lots of good sounds on it too. my favorite piano sound is the 1968 one. do you live near a Sam Ash or Guitar Center? if so, go play a couple & see what you like.
I have the Yamaha Arius YDP-S31, which is supposedly an entry-level keyboard, but I'm happy with it! It's listed in the US at about $1300, though I bought mine abroad (I live out of the country right now). Even though I know little about what it means to be a good digital/electronic keyboard, the sound and reaction to touch is good, and I love having all three sustain/dampening pedals, rather than one of those single sustain pedal attachments.
