Oh, hoorar, a new friend! Of course I'll add you! I've had a facination with Egypt and the ancient world for a while as well. I love ancient Greece and Rome, too!
Wasn't the 18th century grand? And who is this Monsieur Louis of yours? He seems quite aristocratic.
Whoah! I wasn't expecting this! Hahaha! How old are you? All of my friends here are older than me. It'd be cool if you were around fourteen so I know there is still hope in the world for me. (I have yet to meet ANYONE my age who is as educated as I...or who is as weird.) If you're older that's fine too because I do best with people who are older than me.
Yes, I have a really strange way of remembering all of the Gods' and Godesses' names from ancient myths and religion. I don't know how I do it, but it helps in Knowledge Bowl. That's so cool that you want to be an Egyptologist. I wanted to be one in 6th grade I think. It still might happen if I get back into it. I still love the ancient world, but it's not really a of mine passion anymore. I really should learn more, though. Have you ever heard of the children's story The Egyptian Cinderella? I love that book and I have it. The illustrations in my version are gorgeous. I remember when I was younger I wanted to be Rhodopis. I could probably pass for her, too because I have blonde hair
( ... )
You remind me a great deal of myself at your age, when I was also obsessed with the 18th century, Blackadder and MST3K. Since you are my teenaged self reincarnated, can't we be friends? I have a feeling we'd get along.
Oh indeed, m'dear. I still like all that stuff, of course, but it certainly set me apart from my peers at that time, so I imagine it's the same for you. I wore an 18th century-style robe ala francaise "sack back" dress to a prom, complete with paniers. Needless to say I stuck out a bit. ;}
Thank you for adding me! I can't promise my LJ will be very exciting (my entries tend to be short and not always so positive), but at least we can have some sort of exchange.
Oh yes. Like I said, NO one is like me at school. it's very aggravating.
18th century French court dress?! That made my jaw drop there. Did you buy it or make it...? If only I had the skills to make something like that and if only I had the money...
I can't promise that, either, since my life compared to most people's isn't very exciting, but I tend to write long entries. Right now I've been a bit negetive, (I've been told I'm more of a pessimist.) so I think we'll work there. (Does it really matter if the entries are long or short? I think we'll do fine.) I'm sure we'll have a nice LJ friendship. :)
Hi! Sorry that I didn't respond as quick as I should have; as I've been very tied up with life. (Curses...) But yes! I've added you. You like Danny Elfman, too? And Beetlejuice? (Why isn't that on my interests list...?) Cool! I love Danny's score compositions. Have you heard his music for Oingo Boingo? That's my favorite band. <3
Ooh! Ooh! "Just Another Day", "Dead Man's Party", "On the Outside", "Weird Science", "When the Lights Go Out", "Only a Lad", and "Grey Matter", just to name a few (I think I named too much. ^^') I love all of it! "Insanity" is great, too. You rock.
