Every time we have yet another senseless gun massacre in this country, I find myself asking the same questions: "Is this ENOUGH people dead? NOW can we have some sensible gun control? If not HOW MANY corpses is the number? Are we there yet NOW? How about NOW ( Read more... )

while i suspect that those who really want to have dangerous weapons will still have them somehow, allowing me to buy dangerous weapons will not make me any safer, and i think gun restriction as you are describing would probably make some people safer. fewer people with spur of the moment shooting crimes, and fewer accidents when kids find guns, at least.

It's a moot point, given that I think you'd have more luck getting the first amendment appealed than the second. Since that's apparently what it would take change the current status quo... Tom Tomorrow summarized.
