me, brian and the car all survived Driving Lesson #1: The dark and rainy parking lot behind Value City and driving in front of the entrance to Value City and then pulling into a spot next to a car.

And now I'm consuming a small quantity of alcohol.

As you were practicing your driving skills, I was practicing my drive stick-shift skills. I have returned to work and have to take the truck since Neil needs the Volvo so he's not constantly stuck at the house while with Jude. Or in case of an emergency or something. Can I tell you how happy I am that it decides to rain torentually on the first few days that I ever have to drive stick alone? And with the distance I have to drive? It's GREAT!!! Stick-shift in traffic, in the rain is a BITCH. Maybe just because I am new at it, but it still sucks.

I really need to learn to drive stick, since that is what Jason has. Let me know how soon it is before it becomes second nature.

When Ken and I first got together, he had a little red sportscar - stick shift. When we got married, we traded it in for a Toyota Corolla. :) I'd never figure out stick! Not to mention, starting a family then, a sportscar isn't really conducive to a babyseat in the back!

I have no clue how to drive stick. I was on vacation that week in driver's ed. If I'm ever in some horror movie-like situation where I have to drive stick to escape the killer, I'm dead.

My dad took me to the O'Hara parking lot for my first driving lesson. Then he thought I should get a feel for the road on the back streets around there. Fair enough, they're not busy. Then he made me turn onto Township Line during rush hour. When I got nervous about crossing 3 lanes of traffic to make a left onto Rolling Road, he shouted at me and tried to grab the wheel. NOT COOL. I pulled into the gas station on the right side of the road and walked home. My brother Peter and my boyfriend at the time, both saintly patient, did the teaching after that.
