Our washing machine broke (it was already old when we were given it) a few months ago and we had to replace it within a couple of days because the dirty nappies were piling up. Certainly couldn't manage this if we had to use the launderette.
How many times would you be washing them? My mother has (again) filled me with horror stories about how she was forced to use reusable nappies when she had me and she was constantly washing them, they were horrible, etc etc. Obviously from your experience with them it does sound like they've changed, but I'm up for anything that saves money and doesn't give me the mental image of my own massive pile of disposables sat in landfill.

A nappy laundry service is a great idea!
