We took the girls to a friend's son's 4th birthday party today. River doesn't often get to go to parties. This may be the 2nd or 3rd ever for her. Anyway, she was excited to go because she anticipated being able to make new friends and play with everyone. So unlike me

It's taken me ages to work out how to log into livejournal again so I could reply to your comment (just realised I could've emailed you instead). I didn't realise I'd kept blogging until 2015 - in my memory I stopped over a decade ago. But my memories from 2009-2016 are unreliable anyway due to the sleep deprivation.

Anyway, hello, old friend. I'd like to say we're fine, but Matt's sister-in-law, Helen, just died of cancer on Monday, after a 2 year battle, and we're all struggling with it. We've been mostly visiting the Hospice for the past month, bringing back memories of autumn 2015 when we spent so many days in the Hospice with Matt's dad.

It's a funny coincidence that you commented, actually, because I've been thinking for the past couple of weeks that I should start blogging again. I've really missed it. How are you? *goes to look*

Hello! I’m sorry to hear you’ve had such tough losses. I hope you’re able to treat yourselves kindly while you get through these first weeks. I wish you much rest.

I have not kept up with LJ at all after becoming a parent. Well, even before. I stepped away fully while I was still pregnant as I’d had an awfully traumatic first few weeks of the pregnancy. I did have a “proper” blog for a couple of years (even started getting paid for stuff) but then decided I hated the wide anonymous audience and morality issues around blogging for money and shut that down too. Now I’m mostly on Instagram, after years of being mostly on Twitter. Do email me if you still have my address (although I’m not sure if even that would be an old one!). Thanks for adding me on Facebook. I’m on there a lot for work but never really post much of anything personal.
