that's like when i was in Bible college and had to research a bunch of different cults for a class i was taking, but every single site that could have possibly helped me... was blocked.
we try so hard to protect are kids... but yet- don't really try at all.
yeah, the blocking software blocks pages with a high concentration of "tagged" words, and the tagged words database is partially preloaded (with terms like "fuck" or "tits" as an example) and you can add your own. And someone with ignorance on their resume decided to make a laundry list, and put weapons, drugs, alcohol (including specific types), sex and a few others, so a lot of valuable sites (including the FDA.org site) show up as blocked.
Frustrating, it is. I hate netnanny software. I have no use for it, ever, in any situation. I'm overly passionate about this, sorry.
