Until LJ actually disappears, I refuse to go to the effort of setting up an account anywhere else. It's not like it'll be hard for me to locate everyone when the time comes, since I can just go to the channel and ask for some account names ( Read more... )

Agreed.

I made a backup of my LJ yesterday just in case, but until they close down, I a, staying here. HEading over to Vox at this point is as ludicrous as having two IRC channels. ;)

As I see it, LJ's 4 million users will be worth something to someone.

At some point, someone needs to create an anti-social networking site for people who are tied of jumping from site to site.

I just created one just in case. I don't plan on updating it past the initial post until/if LJ dies and we have to Katrina it over there.

I went ahead and grabbed one, more to have the name there than because I expect to use it. I'd been thinking I should do that with Twitter for a while, but apparently someone else grabbed it right before I got around to it. And they're *terrible* at it. Two weeks, and all they can manage to put out is 'i'm at church now'. Cripes. I'm used to having an unusual 'nick, so it's weird enough seeing someone else using it. It's outright infuriating to see someone else using it *poorly*.

I'm actually kinda tempted to set up a Facebook account, just to see who would pop out of the woodwork. So I can ignore them all over again.
