Most of you are probably big enough nerds to know that the characters in Watchmen are based on the Charlton characters and were changed into what we ended up with because DC didn't want the Charlton characters to be unusable after the series

Are those the heroes like The Fly, The Jaguar, etc? I recall them getting a relaunch in the 90s, and of course, tanking.

And now DC's bringing them back in a blatant attempt to capture some of the runaway success of The Twelve and Project Superpowers!

...Wait.

Okay, DC's bringing them back because they never saw a bandwagon they didn't want to jump right the fuck onto. It's all the same, in the end. They'll just end up getting killed off five years down the line to make some new one-shot badguy look awesome, like all of DC's other bit players.
