It's my birthday on wednesday~!
And then there's Valentine's Day, too! I've been trying to get ahead on schoolwork so I'm not totally swamped that week; hopefully that pays off. It's got to be a perfect night.

Wow, a lot's happened since last year, hasn't it? So many things that changed...it's like some people say, sometimes you get the feeling ( Read more... )

Happy birthday, in advance! Have you plans for the day?

I'm not sure, actually. Maybe I'll try and get a reservation at a restaurant? Or just go out somewhere, I wouldn't mind either one.

There are some really nice resturants here, I've noticed. What's your favorite food, if you don't mind my asking?

Yeah, but I haven't visited all that many of them.
My favorite food? Ummm...I like creampuffs, but that's just junkfood.

I care about your birthday...I honestly do...

I have no money for a present. I can give you a cigarette!!!

*sighs*

My pack...if you want.

What was on your door?

That's okay, that's okay! You don't need to get me anything. Besides, I quit smoking a while ago...

Oh...some weird goodbye-note. I thought it was a prank, but then a lot of people got exactly the same thing.

...You're my friend...but if you insist maybe I will just owe you something. I can be a chiropractor too...I am nifty like that. Good! It's bad for you!

There is a lot of weird stuff going on here as of late, hmm? I should get out of my office more.

Ooh, a chiropractor~! That does sound pretty nifty, I must admit...Huh? Then why do you do it?

Well, y'know, this place is always a little bit weird. It's seemed to have settled down again, mostly.

Have you acquired a designated provider of flaming pastries yet?

I'm under the impression that there are rituals involving burning confectionery associated with birthdays. Also pointy hats and noisemakers and an assortment of other things Yuuko-san would heartily endorse, but ...I'm just not a pointy hat sort of person.

I am not much good at baking actual desserts. But if the point of the birthday ritual is to set a frosted confection on fire, I am certain I am more than qualified to make desserts burn. :3

[ooc: He hasn't quite picked up on the necessity of candles there. XDDDD Also, since I'm claimed on Wednesday nights, Sephiroth's birthday present for him is a collection of those brush-tipped markers with food dye in them, so that he could paint on anything tasty... like cookies... or his boyfriend... ^_~]

Flaming what now?

Well...I've never heard of anything like that before, to tell the truth. Not the burning part, at least. But it goes without saying that there should be cake! Chocolate cake, and plenty of ice cream.

Ah, I appreciate the offer, Sephiroth, but I think we can get through the night without setting things on fire, okay? You can light the candles if you want to, though! Although, will 21 candles fit on one cake...?

[ooc; And, y'know, ever since the couch-incident Kio's been a bit wary of fire in his home DX But Sephiroth gets a big thank-you for the gifts; they'll be put to good use~]

You mean they attach candles to the dessert, and then burn the candles? The center of gravity would be dangerously high if they used full-length tapers...

Although there are such a variety of shapes and sizes in the sneezing-store the gift card and scented candle store, I'm sure there must be something more suitably scaled for dessert application and combustion. I'll investigate the options. Perhaps there should be chocolate-scented candles to go with the chocolate cake?

[ooc: Introducing Seph to one of those clicky stick lighters might be a good idea too. Because I suspect his fire materia might flash-melt the candles and liquefy the wax all over the cake. He'd certainly enjoy the notion of a mechanical stick you point at things and go 'click' and there's fire ready and waiting whenever you want it... I suspect it might turn into his next office-toy: click! :3 click! :3 click! :3]

...yeah, Sephiroth. That's what they do. At least, where I'm from, they do, don't know if that's different somewhere else, maybe?

Well, they sell little colored candles at the grocery store, and some of them have plastic bottoms so you don't get wax in your cake. I'm thinking I'll buy a box of those.

[ooc; I LOVE CLICKY-STICK LIGHTERS. Kinda unrelated but yes.
And the idea of having Sephiroth going around and clicking that little thing...XD Though, now that I think about it, I bet Kamina would love one of those too...]
