My first daughter was born six days before her due date, due to my elective induction. My doctor was going to be out of town during the weeks following my due date, and I was tired of being pregnant. it's for this lj group called adopt_a_mom; they ask for a nursing story.

to me, that story is sadder than anything. i was, and am still, so angry for not advocating (and not knowing that i could advocate) for myself. i hate the fact that i thought all doctors and nurses knew what was best, all of the time.

i'm sure they gave her formula and threw a pacifier in her mouth in the nursery. i remember everytime she was wheeled into our room, they'd have a pacifier sitting in the bassinet. i would always hide them, and they'd pop up again.

i couldn't get jack to latch either after he was born. it was so frustrating. :( probably the epidural, there, too. eli never had any problems with it, though.

but jack was born at 1:22 PM. :)
