Inquiring minds want to know. My passport has been out of my possession for 48 hours give or take. Should I get a new one anyway?

It's not free, it cost £70 odd now to replace your passport!
Mines only got a year left in it though so it might be worth getting a new one noew any way...
but at least I can ponder that decision at my leisure
