Paint Shop Pro

To make a long story short, I find myself in want of an image editing program for my new(er) laptop. I have Paint Shop Pro 7 on my old laptop and the family computer, but it's a hassle to go back and forth to computers. So I have now found PSP 7 and PSP 8.1 on ebay. I don't like the newer/newest versions of PSP (from Corel), or I'd get one of them ( Read more... )

When I was first starting out, I used PSP, but after a while I switched over to Photoshop and never looked back. So, if you're looking for a really good graphics program, you should try Photoshop 7. That is, if you want to break out of the PSP brand.

The thought did occur to me. Is it as easy as PSP? Because at this point I value easyness over coolness. hehe. Although I did use PS Elements for a bit when I was working at a photography place and I seemed to figure it out pretty well...I don't know. It's rather pricey, isn't it?

When I first switched, I was pretty overwhelmed because there are more tools and options, and the layout is different. It didn't take long to get used to it, though, and after that, using it was pretty easy.

If you get PSP get 7 or 9. I hate 8, saving multiple files is killer! I have 9 and I'm perfectly happy. If you can find PS cheap, I'd go for it. It is just different enough to be confusing and just alike enough to make things kinda hard. You can do a lot more on it, though, and it's what the pros use. My graphics teachers wouldn't touch PSP. Which sucks because I like it and would be happy sticking with it.
Next program I buy will be PS CS.

Thanks for the info. I will avoid 8, then. haha

I was looking at PS CS3 and I'd have to say I would buy immediately if I happened to have $650 lying around. haha
