I have been unceremoniously "volunteered" to help with customer service calls. Not just logging voice mails either. No I'm supposedly going to be actually calling Avon ladies and discussing their problems. This is not remotely what I was hired to do. I do not have the disposition for this and I most certainly do not have the expertise or the ( Read more... )

Don't kill yourself. Mess with them. "So your latest shipment didn't arrive? Well did you sleep with the UPS man? You didn't? That's why you haven't gotten your things. You have to give a little to get a little. What do you mean your husband would disapprove? Ask him to watch, I promise, he won't complain"

Ok, I will shut up now.

Sadly we do not do that sort of customer service for Avon. We deal with their national convention.

I don't know who they could seduce to get their confirmation email. Possible the guy down at their ISP office?

See, that's the thinking. Just try and make their day a little weirder. You will never get "volunteered" again.

Thank you, dear. Right now though I think you've earned them more than I.

There's just never enough comfort ears to go around, is there?

You've obviously never talked to an Avon lady on the phone.

I have, and I find their problems are probably best dealt with by a trained professional. One who preferably has the ability to give medication, and sign commital forms.

I don't know if they need that so much as they need to make a flow chart of their thoughts.

I would really like to see how a question about what seminar they are going to relates to a niece dropping out of college. Hopefully they'll notice the jump, but I doubt it.

I've added the notice that they decided against making me answer the calls, at least for now. Still, I've caught up on some actual work so as to look busy (hence my YM invisibility as well). As a result:

1. I haven't been bored and today has flown by.

2. Calls have been noteworthy but nothing stellar just yet.

4. I haven't moved drywall, but I did spend the better part of last summer moving stuff from the old office to the new. That was 2 straight months (July and August to boot) of manual labor right there. So I've been there.

I have one of those...and yet I work in customer service. Something about the situation is incredibly fucked up. *growls*
