An esper is the remains of a summon, we use them to perform magic, summons and other assorted things.
Aw, saying it like that makes me sound like some terrible necromancer...

That sounds rather interesting. So that's how you use magic?
I haven't seen one here, but at home they were rare, but existed as magical beings. The Headmaster of my school had one pledge its loyalty to him.

Yeah, but some people are fused with the espers to use magic naturally-- or as magical as that gets. Side effects can be nasty.
I'm in need of a pheonix-- It's the sort that comes back to life, right?
...Must be one hell of a headmaster.
