Recently I've been craving cider. Is there any of that here?

Cider...? Hm. Not that I've seen, but I'll look around.

I've heard of a phoenix but not an esper.

[Pause.] I've actually seen a phoenix.

Really?

An esper is the remains of a summon, we use them to perform magic, summons and other assorted things.

Aw, saying it like that makes me sound like some terrible necromancer...

That sounds rather interesting. So that's how you use magic?

I haven't seen one here, but at home they were rare, but existed as magical beings. The Headmaster of my school had one pledge its loyalty to him.

Yeah, but some people are fused with the espers to use magic naturally-- or as magical as that gets. Side effects can be nasty.

I'm in need of a pheonix-- It's the sort that comes back to life, right?

...Must be one hell of a headmaster.

You're a treasure hunter? Me too!

Really? It's such an underappreciated profession, isn't it?

You bet it is--especially in Spira. I mean, everybody's looking for treasure, but only a few of us can make it an art.

That's the first time I've heard it called an 'art'. I like the way you think.

Edgar's never going to believe me when I tell him.

Spira must be your home, but is it a city, a town, a country?

... Maybe. But it doesn't really work like Phoenix Down.

I want to understand the mechanism, mostly. And I don't want it for profit or anything...

/semi-private, he's still working out how to use the filters:

I need it. Just once, and there won't be any sharing of the how or why, I promise you.

You know the sort of Pheonix I'm talking about, right?

I know you're going to have a hard time finding it here.

I know, anywhere it seems this thing is rare as can be.

That won't stop me, though. It's what I've been looking for for ages, now. I can't stop now.

And-- off topic but you're right about what we spoke on earlier.
