Doctor Who

Worst ep of the whole reboot - even worse than Fear Her, if that's possible. Not worth a proper review, except to note that James Corden wasn't the worst thing about the episode by a long way.

Next week looks good though.

Not all that satisfying, but wouldn't say it was that bad. Had its moments.

Next week is part one of the finale.

Was this the amy-lite ep? If so where was the doctor-lite episode?

I figured this was the Amy-lite ep - she wasn't in the main story much at all, all her bits would have been filmed separately. But no, I haven't noticed a Doctor-lite one!

I just kept jumping up and down screaming 'It's another piece of your own TARDIS, you clod, that's why it's calling you the correct pilot!'

Shit, I noticed it looked TARDISy but didn't make that connection.

I also thought it looked like a reuse of some of the set pieces for the Dalek Emperor in Parting of the Ways.

Oh!
I didn't notice that!

But the TARDIS doens't have any kind of hologram system...

First ep I've enjoyed in ages!!

Matt Smith can't so proper Who so they may as well let him do the improper version :-)

Haha, aww, I like Matt as the Doctor. But I like him with fluffy wet hair too...

I don't get it - I didn't think it was magnificent and the end was stupid but I quite enjoyed the episode - I like the way this series has messed around with tone.

Reading this I feel a little like I missed the memo where it told me I was supposed to hate this ep for some reason... Was it because there was football in it?

It was because it had James Corden in!

No, I was just grumpy about it when I wrote this. And I really hate broad sitcom cringe humour.

I'm starting to realise looking at more commentary that Corden seems to have been a big factor, yes. I though he was pretty good.

Yeah, he wasn't terrible, actually. Better actor than writer!
