this entry almost made me cry. yesterday was the 20th annv of my brother's death, i have been going thru much of the same reflections.

she totally would forgive you, doll. She's a mother, and that's what mothers do. You didn't treat her any worse than any kid treats their mom/parents. But if we are lucky, as we grow, and learn the things that you and everyone learns, our parents are still around for us to actually get the chance to make that apology and share that epiphany when it happens, you laugh, share a hug, maybe a tear or two, and then you make that transition an the relationship is more like a wonderful friendship than a parent child relationship. I'm so sorry that she died before you had your chance. I'm so sorry that you missed that. *hug*

But be comforted in knowing that no matter what an asshole/knucklehead you may have been she loved you with all her heart until the day she died. If you ever have kids, you'll learn all of this first hand and maybe it will give you some more comfort and peace of mind.
