Just a few lines today - it was a busy and stressful day. But a few words are better than nothing at all, right?

Excerpt:
"Any idea what might have caused it?"

Phlox shook his head. "She refuses to tell me what happened. Perhaps she'll be willing to speak to you."

Jack had serious doubts about that, but he wasn't the man who would give up anything without at least giving it a try.

Some is always better than none! And some dialogue is always good!

Much better than boring descriptions anyway. *g*

Descriptions can be a pain. I am doing such small things that even if I want to (and sometimes I do_ I have to try and squeeze it into a dozen or less words, which I am sure is excellent practice but... oof.

Yesterday was travel day, today I was very busy on basically zero sleep (insomnia struck again) so that's two days without words. Hopefully tomorrow

Travel does make it hard. Definitely hopefully tomorrow.

I wrote the first draft of a poem about a cat. Well, that was the prompt I picked out.... :) Its 24 (short) lines and will need much work, but it's a poem, folks! (Only a few years ago I would never have written poetry, I was s sure i couldn't, but since I had to for my course... I have another go every so often).

And I did the compulsory-for-all-students 'academic integrity' quiz on my new university's website and it worked, so I think I will be fine. Classes actually start in two weeks.

That sounds like a lot of work. Go you!

The quiz wasn't hard, basically the multiple choice questions are common sense (though a couple of sessions ago I had a fellow student - her first session - on zoom who was wailing that she's done it fourteen times and still not gotten the requisite 16 out of 20 right... I have no idea how she managed that.

Apart from the obvious distraction today, I slept very badly last night for entirely unrelated reasons, to whit one dental infection. The only writing-related task I have done is set a 100% off promotion on my self-published books for the next three days for the benefit of people who could use some m/m romance comfort reading right now.

Oh that is the sort of pain you really can't ignore by writing - I hope it improves quickly.

And a kind gesture - there are a lot of people in need of comforting distraction right now.

That's a food idea, I am sure many people do.
