The miserable excuse for one measly sentence today - and one I'll most likely strike out later, too. But I have written, so my honour is rescued. I'm planning to type up some of the already written stuff later, though, so that counts as progress, too, doesn't it?

It does! I went backwards and that could still be called progress...

True. As long as it brings one forward to the right destination it is progress. Even if it is the one step forward-three steps backward kind of progress.

I am very very good at that sort of progress....

I finished polishing a little 'there are ghosts in this house' ficlet, it is ready for... well, whatever I decide to do with it. I think I will try reading it out at the next open mic meeting and see what people think.

Plus I decided to do a rather large rewrite of a section of my Snowbug story, rough but it'd heading in a better direction, I've cut any other characters except Wen Ning and Snowbug and will concentrate on how he deals with the horror baby. So it's shorter again but better, I think?

You did good polishing! Did you finish the polishing on it yesterday?

Some of it. Then I changed my mind a bit (there's a good reason why I save every 20 minutes when writing, and every time as a separate file... and then delete a PILE at the end)

It's harder to do it this way, with just Wen Ning and the baby demon and noone else to bounce dialogue off, but I reaaly feel it's a better way to go. Unfortunately.

Oof, yeah, it is tricky to keep the pace from slogging down without dialogue to drive it, but sometimes you gotta

I still feel as if there is too much happening every day to find time to write - but at least I have been able to add another 380 words this evening. I am still, also shuffling paragraphs around to fit two timelines together - what happened in The Halls of Waiting, and what is happening in the story's present time. Eventually some of the 2000 or so words I currently have may have to go.

Bed now - I am looking after an active 30month old all day tomorrow!

That's a solid word count for a day when life is far too busy for writing, really.

As the Dwarves would say: "Strength to you, sister!"

Thank you - I needed it - it was a nice day, but not something I would survive doing every day!

I ended up squeezing in a writing session before bed and managed something like 800 words.

Wow, that's incredible under the circumstances! Go you!

I was honestly surprised it ended up this much, even if 800 words for an hour and a half of struggling (and constantly getting distracted) isn't much. But still! Way more than I'd expected to get at all.

That's a solid total. Well done, I am sure part of your brain was going "beddddddd......" if it's anything like mine.
