Why him?: Holy hell. It took me forever to get someone who I liked for Destiny. I love Geoffrey Rush and I think he is immensely talented. He has a fantastic voice, which is a must for my Destiny.
Who else?: Ian McKellan would be great as well.

Why her?: There are a lot of beautiful, talented actresses who could play her, but for some reason Asia wins for me. She is incredibly talented, and isn't TOO famous, which also works for me. I think a very famous actress playing Death would be a bit distracting. Asia also has a really unique brand of beauty and I think she could pull off the 'quirky goth' thing really really well. Who else?: Eva Green; Charlotte Gainsbourg; Natalie Portman even though that is a bit too easy, and she would probably play it exactly like Sam in Garden State which would just be mleh; there's a lot of people. This character is the easiest to cast well in my opinion.

Why him?: I love Cillian Murphy so much. I think he is the most beautiful, sexy man on the planet, not to mention the fact that he is an incredibly talented actor. Playing Morpheus would be a really really REALLY tough job, and I think that he could pull off Dream's moral ambiguity.
Who else?: I'm obsessed with the concept of him as Dream, so I refuse to seriously consider anyone else, except maybe maybe maybe Adrien Brody. Everyone who says Johnny Depp can kiss my ass.

Why him?: I don't know what to say about Brendan Gleeson. He is just perfect to me.
Who else?: Edward Norton if he wasn't so damned petite.

Umm...that's not a person, that's a drawing. What's with that?: I slaved for a really long time trying to find the actress who would be perfect for Despair, but apparently she doesn't exist. Unfortunately, 'show business' is dominated by willowy women, and I highly doubt that any really talented, up and coming actress would be willing to gain 95+ pounds for a role. The 'go ugly' required for Despair would be enough to scare away even the most dedicated. It sucks, but it's true. Therefore, the actress who would play Despair must be discovered. Let's open-audition this mutha.

Bzuh?:  In an ideal world, all of The Endless would be played by more than one person, but I think Desire is the only character whose ever-changing appearance would be easily accepted by audiences watching Sandman on film. Given the nature of attraction, desire and sexuality in general, it would be easy to explain Desire's transient guise and presence. There are a number of beautiful androgynous men and women who are really talented and perfect for Desire, to name a few: L to R: Agyness Deyn, Cate Blanchett, Patrick Wolf, Uma Thurman, Mathias Lauridsen, Omahyra Mota, Jonathan Rhys Meyers
Or?: Marlene Dietrich would be perfect but unfortunately it's not 1932.

Why her?: She really has the look (given a hair color change). She's maybe a bit too old, but I still think she could pull it off. I still haven't entirely convinced myself that she's the right one, but she's the closest thing I could come up with. Also, in this video, she really seems like Delirium visiting the realm of Despair (crazy Sandman-centric imagination talking). If the choice was mine to make in a real film, I would find someone new.
Who else?: AnnaSophia Robb is still half a decade (or more) too young, but i think she has great potential as an actress; Evan Rachel Wood, but I'm not much of a fan...at all; No one is perfect for me because I love Delirium so much, I have a hard time imagining anyone doing her justice.
