On the topic of this drilling matter, I'm bothered by the point that despite fact the oil companies already have dedicated land in the U.S. for drilling, they aren't drilling on them. Instead they want to go after a wildlife preserve. What is wrong with this picture?

I think those of us with at least a fifth grade education can understand that oil isn't a renewable resource, and yet we seem to want to drill it all away without putting all of our attention toward alternative energies.

Alaska is known for having oil, while many of these spots the oil companies bought are still questionable in terms of energy resources.

Not that I'm defending them, mind you.
