I just went live with the first website I've made as an independent contractor! For a two-week effort, I'm pretty happy with it: http://www.collegeactionparty.com/
Dude, what can I say, you are awesome. Everyone should have a friend as helpful as you! Plus, I'm glad you like the way it looks. I hope next time I will be able to develop my less conservative creative energies.
With all respect to my client, the original text had even more problems. I spent some time doing copy editing, but to spare my client's wallet I tried not to go overboard. That being said, all your input is spot on. I will see if I can convince them to accept your edits (they have already caught aide/aid but I haven't had a chance to correct it yet). The platform page was another area which required lots of changes.
Nice work. I particularly like the image map of all the candidates. I agree with Rj that some of the writing is awkward, but I'm guessing that the CAP wrote their own text, right? So, that's a reflection on them. The only thing I don't like is the italics on the "joint statement" page, because it's kind of difficult/annoying to read. Oh, and is it just me, or is it really funny that there's a girl named Anna Hanna? Like, what were her parents thinking?
Thank you very much! Right you are about the text, too. I've already done some editing on it, as i mention in the post above. I will see about removing the italics, because from a readability/design standpoint you are absolutely correct. I just didn't want to step on anyone's toes by changing it. Anna Hanna probably hates her parents for her name just as much as I do for mine ;)
Why do you hate your name? I like your name! I mean, I guess I could understand if it's because Shannon is often a girl's name... Plus, you get to be scarey! I've always hated my name, but that's because I think "Kelly" sounds like a bleach-blonde cheerleader/Barbie's younger sister.
