Dale made the final adjustments to his tie before reaching for his coat. Tonight had taken a little more planning but it had been a while since he had taken Charlotte out for a date and he wanted it to be just right. Thankfully, with the help of Portalocity, everything should be just perfect

"Almost!" Charlotte called back, still fussing a little with her hair, her make-up, her clothes, her...well, everything. She knew she should have given herself more time! Forget the fact that she'd been getting ready for almost an hour now. "Did you remember to feed Elizabeth Taylor?"

"Yes I did!" Dale said reaching over to lavish affection on the pooch. "And I gave her a quick walk around the block and a belly rub for being such a good girl. Aren't you a good girl? Yes you are!"

"Do you think she'll be okay," Charlotte added with a bit of distress in her voice, "all by herself while we're gone?"

Because, really, the dog had probably very rarely been out of the attentions of either of them for more than an hour at a time.

"It'll be just for a few hours," Dale assured her. "And I even asked Ralph to swing by on his patrol to look in on her."

Of course Ralph made a bitch-face when Dale asked him. Good thing he was wearing a helmet.
