I had to do a similar thing when taking physics over the summer. I could not map out the concepts in a way that I was able to get them in the time allotted. So, the last possible moment I dropped. Sometimes we just need to hear it all from the start again.

fyi, the UofM has a policy of offering a secret/unadvertised one-time-only-in-your-whole-career no-questions-asked drop option that may just let you drop this class after the drop date and have no strings attached.
