Scott - very interesting indeed. An acquaintance of mine experienced focal dystonia going from being one of the most terrifying guitarists I know to playing bass in a cover band to make ends meet which scuttled his extreme guitar ability. When this happened, he became a terrifying composer on multiple instruments.

He sent me a demo late last summer that reminds me a lot of the best of
Frank Zappa's instrumental music combined with X-Files-like atmospherics.

It was an unfinished track but I hope he finishes it as it boded well for
his musical future.

At any rate, I also like to think that I'm a composer whose primary
instrument is guitar but I try to find the "me" in any instrument I
happen to pick up.
