Loving Her Fearlessly: A Pushing Daisies Fanfiction

Okay, cut me some slack, this is my first Olive/Ned fanfic, and I literally just wrote it, so I'm willing to bet there's plenty of typos. Well it's fluff so enjoy!
Loving Her Fearlessly:

The Pie Maker, also known as Ned, was very confused on this particular wintery Sunday morning. It was something about the way his waitress smiled at him, and how everything stopped, just for a moment, as if they were the only people left on the earth. He wondered if he was ever going to be able to love someone as fearlessly as Olive loves him. Ned wanted to scoop her into his arms and kiss her like he has never kissed anyone before when she smiled like that, but he knew he shouldn’t be thinking about her. He stood in the kitchen baking a pie with his girlfriend, Chuck. She looked up at him and smiled, but he found that he didn’t feel the same way he used to when she smiled like that. Nevertheless, he smiled back and nodded reassuringly as she rolled out the crust. He knew that he loved her, she was his first love. He wasn’t a complete fool though, and often wondered if it was her that he loved, or the fact that she needed him. He liked to be needed, and he needed to love her, regardless. He can’t just throw a sweet woman with no credit or records aside from an obituary onto the streets.

He thought about Olive again, and watched her bounce from table to table, putting smiles on the faces of even the grumpiest patrons. She was something special... she loved him so fiercely and fearlessly. She was so bold, charismatic, and stunning. She could walk into a room full of people and attract everyone’s attention with a flash of her very bright pearly whites.

Then he thought about Chuck. She was such a kind, beautiful, and caring woman. She has this way of getting her way with this maniacal grin, and at the same time she is so sweet and can make even the toughest of worries go away. She loves risk and adventures, and more importantly she loves him, the pie maker who gave her a second shot at life, but was it him that she loved, or what he did for her? The pie maker knew that he loved them both, just in different ways, and regardless of who he loves the most, Chuck needs him more. Did he love her more?

His gaze fell on Olive, who had just been pulled aside by none other than Chuck. The pie maker heard a conversation grow louder and more hostile. He then watched Olive slap Chuck, and then look guilty as Chuck came back up with a right hook to give her a bloody nose. Moments later Emerson broke it up, as the pie maker didn’t want to risk touching Chuck, and he watched the women flee. Chuck accompanied her black eye to their apartment upstairs, while Olive made her way out the door. The Pie Maker didn’t think, he didn’t need to, in that moment he just instinctively followed Olive Snook out the door. She looked at the pie maker, who sat beside her and held a paper towel to her bloody nose, and smiled at him half-heartedly.

“Chuck’s not out here, you know?” She said.

“I know,” he said, using his other hand to push some stray blonde strands from her face, “I came to see you.” It was then that reality dawned upon the pie maker. He had been torn between the girl who he gave life and the girl who gave him a reason to live, he acted on impulse. Now his fears started to flow through his head. What would Chuck do without him? Would she be okay on her own? When she realizes that she wasn’t the pie maker’s first choice, will she tell the evening news about a seemingly average pie maker who also serves as a dead waker?
“You did?” Asked Olive Snook, looking up at him with tears in her sparkling green eyes. In that moment the pie maker leaned in and kissed her. He kissed her and he saw colors that he never knew existed. He felt a jolt of life spark through him unlike any other as his lips met hers. Suddenly, he didn’t worry anymore. All the fears left the vicinity of his head. He knew it would all be okay because he was kissing Olive, the woman he loves, fearlessly. He was loving Olive Snook fearlessly.
