It was kind of a last-minute thing... and it was a late birthday gift too, because I kind of missed the birthday. I'll keep that in mind for the future though, if that's all right.

[a rare moment of common sense helped kamina figure that if she hadn't contacted him about getting out of the hospital then (shock of all shocks!), she is probably still in the hospital. it took a lot less common sense to come to the conclusion that being somewhere like that on christmas couldn't be too fun. it probably downright sucked.

thus, he begins operation: make sheryl's christmas less crappy as soon as possible.

kamina arrives via his world-hopping door dressed for the weather, for once, and sporting a Santa hat at a jaunty angle. it takes a while for him to check in so he won't get arrested and find the christmas tree, but not get arrested and find the christmas tree he does. he approaches sheryl from behind as stealthily as he can.

[ What is that noise that's like a very large boy trying very hard to be quiet? She turns around thanks to some sort of sixth sense, and starts in surprise ]

I told you you didn't need to visit me! I'm fine, you know! [ but she says that teasingly, without malice, partially because she's feeling fine today and doesn't need to hide anything in particular. She curls her legs up on the armchair, turning to face him ]
