Umm....today's my birthday. Usually I don't try to make a big deal out of it, since it happens in that weird sinkhole right after finals, everyone else is still in school, and rarely do I ever feel different on my birthday. But I've had such a lovely morning that I couldn't help but say something and do a virtual happy dance

Thank you!!! It was wonderful, although I can't decide if I was disappointed that they didn't card me...but I suppose a winery doesn't have to deal with underaged drinking on a usual basis.

Oh how wonderful! Many happy returns of the day and lots of awesomeness to you! It's always odd to go back- I've been out for long enough that people my age and a few classes behind me are experienced teachers there now :D

I do love wine! You're going to have a lovely time tonight! But I will put in a plug for my vice of choice: craft beer. As compared to wine, it's lower in alcohol, much less expensive, and comes in more styles and varieties. Some styles are definitely acquired tastes (ultra-hoppy beer, smoked beer, sour beer, etc.), but others like Belgian tripels and quadruples can be revelatory the first time you imbibe. You too can be a wine AND beer snob! :D

Thank you so much!!! I probably will have to become a beer snob also...some family friends are excellent beer makers and it would be a shame if I didn't at least educate myself! :P
