The end of the quarter is the college student's grindstone. But this year, I am trying to be...not necessarily nonchalent, but accepting. The papers will be written, the finals taken, and the juries performed. And then three blissful weeks of freedom. Midterm slog
It is an exhausting time of year when I am in the death throes of midterms. Their deaths, mind you, although my own resources are depleted. The one thing I didn't think about when moving into my new apartment was timing for getting the internet. We were supposed to get it today, but our representative didn't tell us we need authorization to pick it up for our roomie. M and I went to see Laurie R King speak yesterday!!!!! It was pretty awesome. She is such an intelligent and witty individual, and of course M and I were too giddy to be intelligent while speaking to her in the signing line. but someone is bound to notice all the grammar mistakes in my exchange story. My beta and I missed a few, and I was reviewing everything late at night before submitting the story an hour after I was supposed to. RIP Butter
Two weeks ago, I found out I was allergic to dairy products. The transition has been complicated rather than difficult. I have been able to resist the urges to eat cheese (although any time someone mentions Cougar Gold, I get a little depressed), but it seems the only Snacks/desserts at home have butter or milk in them. Is it really the end of August? Luckily school starts in...4 weeks? I wish I'd done more this summer--but hey, I finished a story!!!!! A long one, too...don't tell the SSHG mods, but I'd never completed a long story before. Thank goodness for deadlines, and inspiration.
