Romano and Spain Headcanon
Romano/Italy Bros
-Has a ton of peppers all around his home for luck, unfortunately he bought most of them himself when in actuality they should have been given by someone else.
-Rooted for Argentina until they in WC after Italy lost. Then finally rooted for Spain since “they was no one else left to root for”
-Despite his grumpy personality he is actually very warm-hearted inside and would do lot for his friends, family, and strangers (aka women) alike so they would feel accommodated.
-Lives by carpe diem, but also sometimes wishes for the past when things were simpler (same with Spain in the latter half)
-Loves celebrations and parties and joins them whenever he can. Loves to dance since it’s one of the only times where he truly can enjoy himself
-Extremely messy and lazy concerning housework and leaves trash everywhere.
-Easily controlled by the mafia not only because he afraid of them but also because he doesn’t want to see his people be hurt because of him defying them
-His second favorite drink after wine (specifically lacrima cristi) is limoncello
-Mostly lives in Napoli but has an apartment in Roma where he goes to whenever he has meetings/official business or escape the problems in Napoli physically
-Lives and breathes calico and loves the Napoli team dearly despite them not being what they used to and was positively ecstatic when Maradona said he wanted to coach the team and that’s why he rooted for Argentina.
-Back in the day he hated whenever the French built things like the palace in Caserto but now he sort of (grudgingly) accepts them because they attract a lot of tourists who in turn bring money
-More physically attractive than his brother but his personality, bad habits, and mafia put most people off.
-Is an extremely gorgeous person when he smiles and laughs naturally but unfortunately that’s a rarity. When he flirts with women he tries too hard and ends up looking like a fool instead
-Romano’s eyes are a mix of the color of olive leaves/oil, his hair the color of volcanic rock, and his skin the color of a cappuccino
-His eyes are beautiful and very expressive and probably his most attractive feature; you can tell his mood by looking at them if you know how to read his moods
-Loves tanning and just sitting at the beach but unfortunately doesn’t have much time nowadays
-Owns a red vespa that has been stolen countless times (found everytime thanks to ‘connections’) and has a few dents in it from accidents that may or may not have been “accidental”. One of his most prized possessions and takes care of it like a baby.
-Is not in good terms with his brother and they constantly bicker about how much Romano should improve. Romano is extremely tired of it because really there’s only so much he can change with mafia having so much control and getting more and more dangerous and the financial problems but he is trying and slowly things are getting better. He does care greatly for his brother on the inside like good big bro though
-Hates the mafia with an extreme passion
-Is actually quite technologically-challenged (aside from cell phones and basic things on the computer) and is much better at manual labor such as construction, especially roads, and farming although he’s not amazing at them either
-His most attractive features are his handsome face in general (specifically his eyes, high cheekbones, and lips) skin, collarbone, back, waist/hips, and his natural smile.
-Actually likes kids more than he says and sometimes likes to go and play calcio with them and show them tricks
-Hates going on the beaches at Veneziano’s because they’re so crowded and commercialized. He much prefers his own quiet, wild beaches where the water is cleaner and he can be alone and do whatever he wants
-Is a walking encyclopedia of calcio
-Used to own a donkey named Stella but couldn’t keep since he moves around so much now nowadays. She now lives on a farm near Napoli and also co-owns 2 cats with Spain
-Loves almonds, citrus fruits, and melon
-Talks about how much he likes to top during sex but when it comes down to it he could really care less and actually really enjoys being on the receiving end and lavished upon since it makes him feel actually wanted and loved
-Would never willingly touch or look at another guy sexually not only because of his religiousness but also because he believes no other guy can possibly compare to Spain (not that he’ll ever admit that).
-Romano isn’t fat or pudgy at all nowadays (he was he was little though) but when compared to his brother who’s pretty much a stick there is a size difference.
-Although he's very suave and smooth and flirts with girls almost at every chance he gets he never goes past a light make out session if he finds a girl who’s interested. If he finds one who wants to take it further then he totally freaks out and makes the worst excuses to leave since he gets so nervous and embarrassed that he’s never done anything with a woman before and also now also he feels kind of guilty since he technically taken
-Very sensitive on his head (because of the curl) and sides
-Romano hates scary things and gore (when they’re not implied) and is very superstitious
-Romano’s dream sex fantasy is to have sex in brand new blood red Ferrari with black leather seats
-Romano doesn’t really have friends besides Spain, but he does hang out with Greece and Poland on occasion
-Stubborn, slightly naive and sometimes a bit dense. Very obvious weakness for women and certain people.
-Prone to injuries, accidents and getting into fights.
-Still a somewhat spoiled and clingy brat at heart.
-Doesn't like "too" healthy dishes, especially certain vegetables. Prefers sweets and alcohol.
-Is only confident in situations where he knows he can master most problems
-Is extremely ticklish, but only Spain and Veneziano know
-When excited or angry he starts talking very fast in a strong Sicilian or Neapolitan accent to the point Veneziano has no idea what he’s saying.
-Romano’s worst nightmare is being left alone.
-He and Veneziano actually can't cook together most of the time because of their different tastes in food and dishes. Romano eats lots of fish, olive oil, pasta, and pizza, while Veneziano eats rice, meats (anything not fish), and butter. Even pasta and pizza they bicker over what toppings/ingredients to add.
-Romano's favorite football teams are Roma and Napoli.
-Late sleeper, relatively early riser (around 9am)
-Pretty light sleeper, and it usually takes him a while to fully wake up (most cuddliest), but he isn't a morning person at all.
-Gets sick a lot and hates it because it makes him feel more needy and powerless than he already does.
-Loves to be pinned down and ravished upon, even though he will never admit that. Has a bit of a domination kink.
-Dresses extremely well and loves the big names like Armani, Gucci, etc. even though he can't afford them most of the time like his brother. His casual clothing style is similar to Spain's or outdoorsy work-type clothes.
- More of a traditionalist when it comes to art and architecture.
-Gets into fights with inanimate objects. Loses frequently.
-Hates PDA in any form, whether it's seeing it or being a potential victim, which is quite often with Spain around.
-His relationship with Belgium has transformed from a crush to more of a sibling sort of thing, even though he still likes to flirt with her.
-I keep thinking that canon!Romano doesn't like kids, and finds them a pain to take care of, while fem!Romano is very maternal and loves the idea of raising kids of her own someday.
-Romano dislikes winter and the cold in general, he's definatly a summer person, even though he complains about the heat. Just like during storms, he stays inside and huddles in blankets. Spain often forces Romano outside, sometimes not even dressed to go outside.
-Romano speaks Italian (also Sicilian, Neapolitan, and Sardinian dialects)fluenty. He also knows enough (extremely accented) English to get around, and understands about 70% of Spanish spoken to him. He knows some French, Greek (Griko), and Arabic too.
-Lost his virginity to Spain (and has the most sex with him), but has also had sex with France, although he hates himself for it and will never admit it in his life. Thankfully France never brings it up.
-Romano is extremely jealous that Spain always gets hit on by women, since Romano always has to approach them. However, if Spain starts talking to them for whatever reason and they start to flirt with him, he gets even more jealous (for a different reason) and immediately gets Spain away from the area.
-It was reason for having the Italian word for German to be "Tedesco" since he actually insulted Prussia with that ever since back during the Tectonic Knights. The name stuck however and now all Germans are called that.
-Needs to hold/cuddle in his sleep whether it's a pillow, blanket, or a person.
-The most valable thing that Romano has ever pick-pocketed was Spain's silver cross necklace. Unfortunately Spain didn't notice he lost it for the longest time, let alone noticed that it was stolen right from his neck. But eventually got a new one that looked exactly like the old one and that pissed Romano off to no end.
-Him, Veneziano, and France make up the nation fashion police. Unfortunately Spain makes up most of fashion disaster cases.
-His natural hair is course and wavy, but he always keeps just short and layered enough in which it looks relatively straight and he also uses insane amounts of conditioner to make it soft. On bad days he straightens it.
-Romano smokes cigarettes and cigars occasionally. Bad habit he picked up from around the 1920's era - you know, mobsters in New York. He drinks wine, too, but is a bit elitist in his drinking tastes and doesn't really branch out to anything else.
-The Italies like science, but not technology - Romano is good at maths (and also a good chess player but that's for another headcanon) for example, but they didn't inherit Rome's talent for engineering. Veneziano is still very proud of Galileo and he always knew in the deepest deep of his heart that he was right, even when he was still a very proud Catholic.
-The Italies are absolutely charming. Especially Veneziano, he loves fancy-pants events and never misses the opening night of a new show at the theater or opera. Romano is more shy but still manage to pull off the whole "charming Italian" thing.
-Romano has a thing for "older" women and actresses. So lots of those. And def all females - his attraction for males is either cold artistic admiration or something he reserves for other nations because it's different for them. The rare times he felt attracted to a human male he felt horrible about it and tried to avoid that person at all costs.
-Italies have a thick accent but they can write it fairly well, also they found out people think their accent is sexy and abuse this fact. Romano's is thicker than Veneziano's. They HATE the way English words are NEVER pronunced the way they're written, especially considering they're good with spelling.
-Romano always claims to hate children and is the kind of guy who'd get in a serious fight with twelve-year-olds and feel all proud when he manages to beat them up. However, at the same time, he'll be the one to teach them things like how to play football, and generally just be like some sort of big bro.
Spain/Romano
-Whenever Spain comes over to Romano’s house during the summer he loves picking flowers from the many bougainvilleas, etc., stick them in Romano’s hair, and say how much more beautiful they look now than on the tree.
-Both Spain and Romano dislike the rain (Romano hates thunder and lightning especially) and so they usually end of sleeping and cuddling all day
-Are actually very vanilla in bed, and are rarely kinky at all, although Spain is open for trying almost anything. The passion and love between them when they have sex is enough to make it amazing for them. If a person were to watch they would probably find it hotter than any kinky sex.
-Both have similar breakfasts: an espresso/cappuccino and maybe a light pastry and they're set.
-Both of them are not very good at mathematics (although Romano's a tiny bit better), and Romano is not very good at languages, while it's Spain forte.
-Spain, France, and both the Italies have like these massive stashes of expensive cologne. They only wear enough so that you have to get really close to them to be able to smell it, but when you do smell it, it's heavenly.
Spain
-His most attractive features is his hair, eye color, jawline, hands, chest/abs, hands (how they feel), dat ass, thighs, and most of all his personality
-Spain is very sensitive on his neck
-Spain loves to bite and mark, tease, whisper endearments, and slowly love to drive his lover crazy with pleasure. He is also very thoughtful.
-Best bros with France, Spain, and Greece.
-Spain is very open-minded concerning is sexuality, or to better put it he doesn't think about it. Who he finds attractive, he finds attractive.
-He never realizes people hit on him, he usually just thinks they're either just touchy or being really nice or friendly.
-Spain's favorite football team is either Real Madrid or FC Barcelona, he can't choose between them. He's also got a soft spot for Valencia.
- He is friendly with almost anyone, those exceptions are, but not limited too:
*Some Latin American nations for obvious reasons (getting much better though)
*America because of Bush and his policies when he was in office and how he treats foreign affairs
*England, although it's just a small rivalry now, but they do fight over Gibraltar.
*Morocco because of immigrants
*Portugal because they are rivals and usually just don't get along very well.
-Spain is the kind of guy who would serenade his love interest at the late hours of the night and shower them with gifts and cheesy poems and texts. You can't stay mad at him though no matter how annoying since he's just too cute and honest.
-Late sleeper, and late riser (unless he's at the farm). Noon is a normal time for him to wake up.
-Deep sleeper, but a morning person
-Spain's biggest turn on is having Romano ride him. He also loves biting his neck, jawline, and ears.
-Spain loves sports in general. He's a huge fan of not only futbol, but also cycling, basketball, and tennis as well, although he's willing to try anything.
-Spain loves modern art and architecture.
-Dresses very casually, even too casually sometimes to the point that Romano or France have to pick out his wardrobe. Looks damn good in a suit.
-More a summer person, but tolerates the cold more than Romano and loves snow.
-Spain speaks (Castillian) Spanish, Catalan, Galician, and Basque fluently. He also speaks (accented) English and Portuguese okay. He also knows bits of French, Italian, and Arabic.
-Lost his virginity to France at a pretty young age (around 15)
-Spain wears a cross necklace made of pure silver from the New World. He's lost a few times, but has extras lying around just in case. Used to wear it for religious reasons, but now he just sees it as an heirloom and reminder. He also finds it pretty fashionable.
-Has really thick, wavy hair.
-Spain tweets at like 200 tweets an hour on the rare occasions when he remembers to tweet. Romano keeps threatening to defollow him for this reason.
