I can't remember the last time I've had a recurring nightmare, much less a recurring nightmare character. This one had me up at 5:00, and I couldn't fall back asleep. Hopefully two nights in a row isn't a sign that this will be an ongoing proble

I'm not sure if this'll help in 'understanding', but the whole world is in the grip of the fear of something incomprehensible coming after them... and people trying to gloss over it saying, "You'd prefer not to know."
